Youth programs support individuals aged 11 to 29 across the Southern Gulf Islands, helping them build self-esteem and leadership skills through engaging activities.

Do you need a space to focus on your homework? Maybe you could use some support with your assignments, or perhaps you’d like to support others. Either way, we’d love to have you join us!
It is free to join, no registration necessary, and you will be provided with free drinks and food.

An afternoon of games, food, and family fun!
Join the Southern Gulf Islands Neighbourhood House for our first Family Dinner and Game Night.
The fun begins at 2:30 PM with a variety of activities, including board games, card games, shuffleboard, pool, and darts.
A delicious spaghetti dinner will be served at 5:00 PM.
Everyone is welcome! It costs $5 per person or $20 per family (kids under 5 eat free), with complimentary juice and pop.
If transportation or cost is a concern, please reach out, we want everyone to be able to participate.
2023
Leadership for the Earth is an outdoor environmental leadership program for Pender Island youth ages 13–18.
The program meets biweekly on Friday afternoons for outdoor, at-a-distance activities related to leadership, environmental awareness, and food security.
We also offer a monthly newsletter with virtual resources and activities.
This program is run in collaboration with the Pender Islands Community Hall.
This initiative is run in collaboration with the Pender Islands Community Hall and the Southern Gulf Islands Neighbourhood House.
Its intention is to provide an opportunity for intergenerational connection, knowledge sharing, and collective joy during what can be a stressful and isolating time.
We run virtual programming that connects youth (19 and under) with seniors (55+) in Southern Gulf Island communities.
2022

Come to the Pender Pride Picnic and enjoy a fun-filled day of face painting, queer artists and music, arts and crafts, and snacks!
Allyship Activities:
“Shattering the Movie Magic”: Watch a documentary about conversion therapyVirtual “Hot Topic Chat” on allyship, LGBTQ+ history, and resilience
Zine-making workshop (livestreamed) in collaboration with Youth Activity Night
These virtual workshops take place weekly on Wednesdays from 5–6 PM and provide a space to connect and discuss how to support both yourself and your community.
Adventure Earth is a weekly youth program for ages 13–18 interested in outdoor leadership, wilderness skills, food security, farming, and civic engagement.
Each week features something different from climbing a mountain, visiting a local farm, volunteering with an organization, to learning to lead games and activities.
The SGINH and Pender Community Hall are partnering on this fun intergenerational group.
Are you knowledgeable in self-sufficiency skills? Are you a DIY savant or Fall Fair champion? If you can teach or want to learn, we want to hear from you.

Join us for thoughtful discussions on your favourite movies, beginning with a documentary on conversion therapy during Pride Week.
We’ll unpack the issues and feelings movies raise and apply a critical lens to beloved classics.
