Our Hiring Process
Create a volunteer profile on Better Impact. Be sure to keep track of your username and password.
Fill out a short application (5 minutes) with your qualifications and areas of interest.
Please wait up to 48 hours for us to get back to you with specific volunteer opportunities that best fit your profile.
Complete a simple and quick onboarding to ensure you feel confident going into your first day.
Begin contributing to our island communities, creating connections and having fun!

Programs our Volunteers' Support
Our open volunteer positions are ever-changing, however, all opportunities fall within the program areas listed below. Most roles require a weekly commitment of 3-6 hours on a consistent day. We offer positions across the Southern Gulf Islands, with both in-person and remote options available. We encourage you to fill out our Better Impact application, indicating your preferred program area, location, and availability so that our Volunteer Coordinator can match you with the best opportunity based on current needs.
Seniors Programs
Help keep seniors on the Southern Gulf Islands engaged, active, and connected. Whether it’s supporting weekly lunches, helping explain tech, or simply sharing a conversation, volunteers make a big difference. Join us in supporting our elders across Saturna, Galiano, Mayne, and Pender.

Yes. We recommend visiting the site where you’d like to volunteer to meet the staff and explore the program that interests you before enrolling in the Volunteer Program at SGINH.
